Frequently Asked Questions
-
Many Australian private health insurance policies include chiropractic under extras cover, but benefits vary between funds and levels of cover.
Your rebate may depend on your policy, remaining annual limit, waiting periods and the service provided. Contact your health fund or check your member app to confirm your eligibility before booking.
-
Yes. Arc Health Clinic offers HICAPS on-the-spot claiming for eligible services and participating health funds. Bring your health fund card, and we'll process your rebate at the time of your visit.
For the gap-free initial consultation, your rebate covers the full fee, so there's nothing left to pay. For follow-up appointments, you'd generally pay only the difference between the fee and your rebate. Please check your benefits with your health fund before booking.
-
Your first visit is an opportunity to discuss your concerns, health history and goals. Your chiropractor will conduct an appropriate assessment, explain their findings and discuss suitable options with you.
You can ask questions throughout the appointment, and any recommended care should be explained before you decide how to proceed.
There’s no need to feel nervous about asking questions or letting us know if you’re unsure about anything.
-
Not for your initial consultation, if you're an eligible new patient. You need private extras cover that includes chiropractic, an active policy, enough annual limit remaining and no waiting period. Your health fund rebate covers the full cost of the consultation, which includes history taking, an examination, treatment where suitable and a plan forward.
If your cover doesn't fully cover the consultation, we'll tell you the cost before we begin. Follow-up appointments, if recommended, have their own fees and rebates, and we'll explain these before you decide how to proceed.
-
A referral is generally not required to see a chiropractor in Australia. If you have a specific insurance arrangement or other healthcare requirements, check whether any additional conditions apply.
